Biography / Artist Statement
Pop surrealist artist ARTSMITH has been living and working out of Austin, Texas, for the past decade. For most of his life, he has been creating and searching for a style he can truly call his own. Drawing from a cultural blend of a ’90s childhood, a military background, and the zeitgeist of the digital age, he pushes to visually analyze the world around him.
He delivers colorful, abstract expressionist landscapes with a strong graphic design influence. His female-dominant figurative work incorporates futurist mechanics, balanced by the duality of the natural world.
ARTSMITH’s range of styles, and his ability to translate them across different mediums, reflects a diverse and evolving body of work. Working in mixed media collage, he uses an array of materials. By avoiding rigid rules in his process, he continues to push boundaries and keep his work raw, dynamic, and forward-thinking.
