“Owl Stone”

Biography / Artist Statement

As a youth growing up in Slaton, Texas, Seth Neill was known for his drawings and caricatures. He did odd jobs to make money for oil painting lessons and art magazines. In his early twenties, Seth began working as a brick and stone mason and later expanded to woodworking and remodeling. He believes that there is a strong correlation between constructing something and creating art. This knowledge has led him to create sculptures in a variety of materials including metal, mixed media, stone, and wood. He is fascinated by light and kinetic energy and often uses a hands-on approach for the audience interacting with his work.

Seth has exhibited at the Tornado Gallery, Lubbock Garden and Art Center, Charles Adams Studio Project, Abraham Art Gallery, and Garza County Historical Museum. He has received awards at the National Art Program with a Best of Show for his automaton, “On the Waves,” and two first place awards for his metal sculptures. He shared a work studio at CASP from 2014-2016, where he exhibited and hosted First Friday Art Trail each month. Seth’s sculptures have been represented by Broadway Contemporary Fine Art Gallery from 2022 through early 2026.
