Biography / Artist Statement

Ebova is a self-taught female artist, known for developing her unique style that allows her to intuitively “sculpt” and manipulate the paint in nontraditional ways.

Ebova was born and grew up in former Czechoslovakia, later immigrated to the United States, and became the U.S. citizen in 2001.

Ebova’s art is influenced by her heritage and authentic perception of the “world”, expressed through uniquely combined vibrant multilayers of colors and markings, which define Ebova’s personal handwriting.

Ebova’s artwork has been featured in national publications, received multiple national awards. Among others, Ebova was 3 times selected as a finalist for the Hunting Art Prize, and exhibited in over 50 national and international exhibitions, including the national juried exhibition curated by Sarah Tanguy, an independent curator, arts writer & critic, and a curator for the Art in Embassies Program in Washington, DC.

Some of Ebova’s public works include commissions by Texas Tech University, University Medical Center and Joe Arrington Cancer Center. In 2021, Ebova debuted her newest works in two solo exhibitions at the Buddy Holly Center and the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts.
